Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a strange encounter with “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon while on his first broadcasting assignment at Super Bowl LII, which he recalled in hilarious detail on hispodcast.
As Earnhardt explained, he was watching the game with his wife and retired Alpine skier Bode Miller in the NBC suite when Fallon came in. The first thing that popped into Earnhardt's head after another woman in the suite offered to introduce them was to ask Fallon if he could bless his unborn daughter.
“I’m thinking to myself, I don’t know, I was like, ‘What are you going to do if you meet Jimmy Fallon?'” Earnhardt said. “This could have been anybody, but it was Jimmy Fallon. And I’m (saying), ‘Jimmy, (my wife) Amy’s pregnant. Will you bless our baby?’ I don’t know what that means. So he leaned down, and he said, ‘Hey! You are at the Super Bowl! I can’t wait to meet you!'”
Co-host Mike Davis then interjected. “Do you think he thought that might have been a weird question?” he asked.
"Yeah," Earnhardt replied. "I'll never meet him again. I'll never see him again."
" … Whatever this has done to my reputation, it'll be a great story to tell my daughter one day."
