Appearing at a UFC 232 pre-fight press conference in New York, Jon Jones had a lot to say about his fellow fighters in the promotion.
Although Jones will face off against Alexander Gustafsson in UFC 232’s main event for the light heavyweight championship, the former titleholder initially focused on closing the door on his feud with current double champion Daniel Cormier.
The 31-year-old said he wouldn’t grant Cormier a shot at the light heavyweight belt because “he got knocked out” last time, per.
“I have nothing to prove against Daniel Cormier,” Jones said Friday, via. “I’ve done enough to that guy, I want to let him breathe easy”
Joneshe also has his sights set on Brock Lesnar, claiming he’s “looking forward to the opportunity to compete against” him.
As for his bout with Gustafsson, the former champion reiterated he didn’t take him seriously during their first battle in September 2013 – a fight Jones won via a thrilling, unanimous decision.
In typical Jones fashion, the UFC 232 press conference ended with a heated face off between the two fighters.
