Floyd Mayweather rebuked the notion that he would enter a mixed martial arts fight anytime in the near future, despite considering a return to the arena earlier this year.
Mayweather told reporters in March that he began training for a potential MMA fight, aiming for the end of the year,.
It appears that he’s put this goal on hold while remaining in retirement.
“I’m not thinking about fighting right now,” Mayweather told.
TMZ asked Mayweather if he spoke to Tyron Woodley and he responded that he’s busy with several ventures.
“We talked, but man, I’m so busy, I got so many different things going on on the outside. I really focus on my children. Both of my children just finished high school – my daughter finished high school a few years ago but she’s going to walk this year.”
“If you haven’t heard, I’m building the tallest building in New York City,” Mayweather added, clarifying that he’s an investor in several real estate properties across the city.
Mayweather, who also told TMZ that he’s doing well financially and in no rush to return to the ring, appears content with his decision, but this avenue could reopen with a change of heart.
