Yushin Okami's next bout will be contested a full two weight classes below his last.
After stepping in to face Ovince Saint Preux at 205 pounds on short notice in September, the 36-year-old is set to meet Dhiego Lima in a welterweight bout at UFC on FOX 29 on April 14 at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Thewas added to the bill on Tuesday.
Okami compiled a 13-5 record in the Octagon from 2006 to 2013 and took his talents to World Series of Fighting when the UFC released him following a stoppage loss to Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza. The Japanese judoka won five of seven bouts under several banners before returning at UFC Fight Night 117, where Saint Preux choked him unconscious in less than two minutes.
Lima, 29, became the first fighter to reach the finals of two separate "The Ultimate Fighter" tournaments this past summer, only to be submitted by Jesse Taylor in the second round of the "TUF 25" finale. The former Titan FC champion has lost four of five in the UFC, with every one of those defeats coming by stoppage.
UFC on FOX 29 will see Dustin Poirier and Arizona native Justin Gaethje clash in the lightweight main event.
