Darren Till’s troubles with the scale have been well-documented.
Though he missed weight for his last bout against Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson, the UFC selected Till to step into a title fight with welterweight champion Tyron Woodley on Saturday.
Till needs to come in at or under 170 pounds during Friday’s weigh-in. He conceded to the media that, as of Wednesday night, he weighed 182 pounds.
Till expressed no concern about making the weight limit. Neither did his nutritionist, who said he’s “110 percent” certain Till will come in at 170 pounds, according to.
The UFC took the precautionary step of asking Kamaru Usman to stand by in case Till is unavailable for the bout. Woodley will have none of it, however. He’s expressed that he will fight No. 2-ranked welterweight Till whether he makes weight or not.
