Joel Embiid – $27.5 million
Nicknamed “The Process,” Joel Embiid became the third Cameroonian-born person picked in the NBA Draft. Unfortunately, a broken navicular bone forced him to miss two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. His official rookie season started in 2016, which was two years after being drafted. After landing on the NBA All-Rookie First Team, he signed a five-year, $148 million contract extension. The 2018-2019 season found him averaging 27.5 points per game. Embiid landed in back to back All-Star Games in 2018 and 2019.
